Rare therapeutic toys designed by Renate Müller in the 1960's. Müller designed the first handmade toys while still a student, as teaching tools for children with special needs, to be used at clinics, kindergartens and at home to teach balance, grip and other motor skills as well as colors, shapes and textures. Robert McKeown S & P Shakers 1970's California
Early larger version, walnut salt and pepper shakers with polyester resin inlay. Robert McKeown, 1931-1989. Born in Oakland, California, studied art at Humboldt State College in Eureka and received his degree from San Jose State College. He subsequently pursued color and design theory at the Mendocino Art Center and at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland.
