Charles Eames RAR-1 "Baby Rocker" Herman Miller 1975

Herman Miller produced Eames rockers from 1950 to 1968. From 1968 to 1984 these chairs were no longer available for sale. Herman Miller reserved Eames RARs as gifts for Herman Miller employees with new born babies. The mothers were encouraged to pick out the fabric and shell combination, and the name of the child and the child's birthdate was inscribed on a brass plaque screwed to the back of these chairs. This model has burnt orange Alexander Girard tweed, on a warm yellow fiberglass arm shell and an original rocker base.
